Obituary of Randy McCall

Randy Roy McCall, 69, of Moran, Kansas passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home due to an accident on his farm doing what he loved.

He was born August 8, 1948 in Ellsworth, Kansas to Wayne and Thelma (Brady) McCall. His family moved in 1954 to Moran. In high school he played guitar with his local band, the DelRays. He graduated from Moran Rural High School in 1966, with a perfect attendance record through all 12 years. He then attended Allen County Community College for two years. He married Audrey Riebe on September 14, 1968 in Erie, Kansas.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1973. He was always proud of his service to his country. After he came home, he began farming, including raising livestock, including a large hog operation and growing crops. He hunted for arrowheads, enjoyed metal detecting, tinkering in his wood shop, and attending auctions and every activity of his grandchildren. He could be found at the local coffee shop every morning from 6:00 to 7:30. He watched Chiefs and Jayhawks games on TV. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his laugh, and his expert napping skills.
